Dr Nitin Sachdev (Nathan) completed his medical degree in Scotland, UK in 1997 followed by Ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital in 2011, which has rotations within all the major Sydney teaching hospitals. Since then he has completed Medical Retina superspeciality fellowship training in Adelaide. He was awarded a PhD from UNSW for his original work on cataract research in 2004. He has had a strong history of international publications and regularly attends international, national and local conferences and in the past has been involved with several cutting edge retinal trials.
He is well known in Sydney for having the ability to explain complex issues in a simple to understand, caring and personalized manner. He has singlehandedly built a friendly and caring personalized team within a state of the art private practice. He has been active on several national Australian Ophthalmology College Committees and continues to be involved and keep up to date with the very latest in Ophthalmology advances.
In addition to providing comprehensive specialist medical and surgical eye care he offers the very latest technology in intraocular lenses for cataract surgery, 3D digital glaucoma imaging & laser treatments, retinal lasers, retinal injections, retinal laser scans, retinal angiograms and eye lid surgery, including cosmetic lid surgery.

B Med Sci (UNSW), Masters of Orthoptics (UTS)
Our orthoptists are warm and kind graduates with a masters degree in Orthoptics from UTS. They have excellent communication skills to assess, diagnose and manage many eye conditions. They are involved with providing guidance about your eye condition and surgery. Our Orthoptists perform eye assessments for adult and paediatric squints. This often involves assessing double vision, colour vision, contrast sensitivity, ocular motility, refraction, stereopsis, amblyopia assessments and provide a management plan. They also assists in your cataract measurements (IOL) Intraocular lens master and preoperative workup and discussion as well as post operatively assisting Dr Nathan Sachdev. Our team of orthoptists also perform testing for eye pressure, low vision care and driving assessments. They are highly trained in using specialised technology to detect and measure the progression of eye disease – these include instruments such as ultrasonography machines, (A-scans, B-scans and pachymmeters), topogrophers (Ocular Coherence Tomographer (OCT), Orbscans), autorefraction, lensometer, automated Humphrey field analysis and high definition retinal cameras. |

Dr Kaur is a highly experienced and caring anaesthetist. She ensures your treatment is pain free, safe, relaxed and has a vital role in monitoring you during your entire surgery. She trained at UNSW and has extensive anaesthetic experience from London UK. She assists Dr Nathan Sachdev in achieving the best surgical experience possible for you.
